aboutus
Highland Dancing is competitive and technical dance style requiring stamina, strength and flexibility. Benefits of highland dancing are not only limited to the physical health, but also the mental well being, as resilience, determination and dedication is required to perfect the highly technical sport. Highland Dancing was developed in the Scottish Highlands in the 19th and 20th century and the Brisbane Regional Highland Dancing Association Inc. (BRHDAI) is devoted to preserving the cultural significance of this unique dance style within the Brisbane region.
BRHDAI is hosting the 2nd Brisbane Regional Highland Dance Titles on the 5th and 6th of July 2024 - a competition set to revolutionise the competition space. This competition will give local children & youth the opportunity to perform and compete in a world class setting showcasing their technique and talent while paying tribute to the culture. Measured outcomes through the competition setting will give competitors the opportunity for personal growth and development within the sport.
