Children are classified as a primary dancer until the age of 7. Exams and competitions are encouraged to aid in developing technique. Primary children learn;

• High Cuts

• Highland Fling

• Swords

If you are over the age of 7 and new to highland dancing, you will be classified as a Beginner. New beginners will learn the same fundamentals as a Primary dancer with the addition of;

• Flora

• Seann Triubhas

• Strathspey & Highland Reel

Dancers in Beginners and Novice class work hard at improving technique and strength to make their way through the competition levels. The dances learnt are ;

• Reel of Tulloch

There is a strong focus on technique as well as Championship and Scottish National Premiership work. Intermediate dancers focus on preparing to enter the Premier level by learning;

• Barracks Johnnie

Junior Premier dancers work on all dances from previous levels with the addition of ;

• Scotch Measure

• Blue Bonnets

The seniors highland class is open to dancers aged 16+ who have previous highland dancing experience to the level of Intermediate or above. The seniors class is made up of competitive and non competitive dancers. Senior dancers are given the opportunity to take exams and pursue their teachers qualification with NDAAI, compete, perform locally and internationally. 

Senior dancers work on all dances from previous levels with the addition of ;

• Scotch Measure

• Blue Bonnets
